After the election of Michael D. Higgins as President, the Parish Pastoral Council decided to send a letter of congratulations and good wishes to the new President. As Monsignor Malachy was on holidays at the time, the letter was signed on behalf of the parish council by Matt Hurley, chairman, and Fr Hugh.
