Parish Announcements for Sunday, October 30th 2011

Clocks go back by one hour at midnight tonight (Saturday 29th – Sunday 30th October).


• Tuesday, November 1st is the Feast of All Saints. Vigil Mass on Monday evening at 6.30pm. Masses on Tuesday itself at 10am, 11.30am and 6.30pm. (See more in the posting below.)

Wednesday, November 2nd is All Souls Day, the Commemoration of all the Faithful Departed. Masses at 10am and 7.30pm. (Again, see more in the posting below.)

November Masses for the Dead: The envelopes for the remembrance of our loved ones and the Faithful Departed are available at the Church doors. Please return them to the Church by Wednesday, November 2nd and place them in the safe at the back of the Church or the box beside the sanctuary.

The Novena of Masses for those whose names are on these lists will begin on All Souls Day, Wednesday November 2nd and continue until Thursday, November 10th.

This coming Friday, November 4th is the First Friday of the month and so those who are housebound by illness or old age will be visited with Holy Communion by Monsignor Malachy and Father Hugh. Please let us know of anybody who has recently become housebound and would like to receive Communion on the First Friday.

The Vigil Mass next Saturday, November 5th at 6.30pm will be offered for those who died in the parish during the past year. A candle for each of them will be lighting in the sanctuary from All Souls Day on. Their loved ones are invited to this Mass.

Mass and blessing of the graves in Forthill Cemetery next Sunday, November 6th at 11.30am.

Thank you for your contributions to the Mission Sunday collection last week. It raised €1,000.

A special collection will be taken up at all Masses next Sunday, November 6th for the diocesan family services that are provided at the Diocesan Pastoral Centre, Árus de Brún.

Children’s Choir for Christmas: Rehearsals will begin next Wednesday, November 2nd at 7pm in the Church Meeting Room. All children from 6 years are welcome. For queries, see phone numbers on Church notice board.
