Community Music Group


The Westside Community Development Project and the VEC have launched a Community Music Group in the Westside Resource Centre on Wednesday nights 7-9pm. The group is open to anyone living in the Westside area over the age of 18 and is free of charge.
The aim of the group is to give community members a chance to meet other people who have an interest in music and to provide a space to learn new skills and have fun. The focus of the group is participative music making, including any and all types of music. Everyone is welcome to join the group regardless of musical or singing ability.

Intergenerational Art Exhibition

On Tuesday, 18th October 2011 at 6.30pm in the Westside Library, Séamus Quirke Road, Youth Work Ireland, Galway (Rahoon Youth Project) and the St Vincent de Paul Society present an Intergenerational Art Exhibition. The aim of the project was to challenge negative age stereotyping and help build positive connections across the age span in the local community. All are welcome to attend this event during Galway City Council's social inclusion week.



IHCPT LOURDES PILGRIMAGE


I.H.C.P.T - THE IRISH PILGRIMAGE TRUST organises a pilgrimage to Lourdes every Easter, for young people with special/additional needs between 12-30yrs of age.
There is also a special family group for younger children with serious illnesses.
