Burren in Bloom Festival

The Burren in Bloom Festival returns this May with a series of illustrated talks and organised walks throughout the month. This will give people an understanding and appreciation of the Burren and its formation, and how it continues to be a source of great botanical and cultural wealth with its unique wild flowers and many ancient sites.

Mary Immaculate College Offering MA in Christian Leadership in Education

Mary Immaculate College is offering an exciting and timely new professional qualification programme entitled MA in Christian Leadership in Education.

This two year programme, which will commence in June 2011, will lead to a professional qualification with a strong theology component for those working in the second-level education sector such as school principals, members of boards of management, members of the trusts established by the various denominational bodies in Ireland, etc.

Religious Practice in a Post Secular World

The Irish Centre for Faith and Culture at Saint Patrick's College Maynooth invites you to a One Day Symposium on 3 March 2011.

Speaker Profiles:

Prof Richard Kearney holds the Charles B Seelig Chair of Philosophy at Boston College and has served as a Visiting Professor at University College Dublin, the University of Paris (Sorbonne) and the University of Nice. Recent publications include: On Stories; The God Who May Be; and Strangers, Gods, and Monsters; Anatheism: Returning to God after God

Prof Grace Davie is the Professor of Sociology at the University of Exeter. She is a specialist in the sociology of religion, with a particular emphasis on patterns of religion in Europe. Her publications include Religion in Britain since 1945: Believing without Belonging.

Prof Patricia Casey is Professor of Psychiatry at Department of Psychiatry, UCD and the Mater Misericordiae Hospital. Her research interests include personality disorder and suicide. She is Editor of the Psychiatric Bulletin.

Prof Michael A Conway (Galway Diocese) is Professor of Faith and Culture at Saint Patrick’s College, Maynooth. He is the current Director of the Irish Centre for Faith and Culture. He is a specialist in the thought of Maurice Blondel.

Schola Hyberniae is a female ensemble specializing in plainchant and early polyphony. The group has a particular interest in music from Irish manuscripts.

B. The Tullamore Youth Pastoral Council wish to tell you about their upcoming National Parish Youth Conference which is taking place on the 5th March 2011 in St. Mary's Youth and Community Centre, Tullamore from 9:30am-5:30am....

The theme of this year's conference is "Community Unity-The Church as social network...." Guest Speakers will include Bishop Donal Mc Keon and Ronan Scully, Andrew Maloney and Sean Dench...

This event is open to all with an interest in working alongside the young people in our church...their intention is that every parish across Ireland will be represented by young people between the ages of 12-18 years of age

Liturgy Resource Evening

This takes place on Thursday 3rd March in the Diocesan Pastoral Centre, Newtownsmith, at 7:30p.m. An opportunity for parish liturgy groups to receive new resources and ideas for the Lenten liturgies this season. This evening will be facilitated by the pastoral development team from Trócaire. It is hoped that this evening will give parishes the opportunity to listen, reflect and finally, to act.
