Bishop John Fleming of Killala has sent the following message of thanks following the recent national collection towards the costs of the Eucharistic Congress:
I, along with the Bishops from the 26 dioceses of
Ireland, am deeply grateful to you for the donations which you have given to
the four National Collections which have been taken up for the 50th
International Eucharistic Congress 2012 since 2009. Your support means that
Ireland is able to extend a warm welcome to visitors to Dublin from Ireland as
well as from all over the world for this very important event in the life of the
Catholic Church.
I know that you will be with us, if not in person then
in spirit, as we host this very important occasion, which has as its theme,
The Eucharist - Communion with Christ and with one another. I ask you to
keep us in your prayers.
If you would like to offer further support to the
Congress, please give your donation to your local priest. Your generosity is
deeply appreciated and it is our intention to publish the full financial details
of the Congress in due course.
