Hundreds to Take to the Streets of Galway for Console Suicide Memorial Walk.
Console is calling on families, friends, work colleagues to take to the streets of Galway for the 2010 Console Memorial Walk in aid of the suicide bereaved.
The charity is hoping that people from every corner of Galway will seize the opportunity to take part in the 6.5 kilometre challenge and help raise funds for families whose lives have been torn apart as a result of the loss of a loved one to suicide.
The Walk entitled “Walking in Memory of Our Loved Ones” takes place on Sunday 16th May at 2.30 pm against the backdrop of Galway Bay. The starting point is at the Claddagh Hall and the route leads right up to Blackrock and back around to the Claddagh Hall, where weary walkers can enjoy celebratory refreshments. A. The annual Galway Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock led by Bishop Martin Drennan takes place on May 23rd. There will be the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick at 2:30, followed by the Pilgrimage Mass and the Eucharistic Blessing of the Sick with Benediction followed by the Rosary Procession.
