10th Anniversary Galway GOAL Ball – Tickets on Sale now

Dear Friends of GOAL Galway,

The 10th annual Galway GOAL Ball will take place this year on Friday, 19th of November in the Galway Bay Hotel, Salthill, Galway.

We hope that you will put this date into your diary and will consider organising a table or some tickets for a night out, with friends, family or work coming close to the Christmas Season to support GOAL programmes with the poorest of the poor in The Developing world.

The evening will begin with a champagne reception at 7.30pm followed by dinner. This black tie event will feature ‘Sean Slattery & the Connections’ playing classic hits from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s – promising to satisfy every musical taste and provide an evening of great music and dance. There will also be a raffle and spot prizes and the MC for the night will be RTE’s Michael Lyster.

Individual tickets are priced at €85, or €160 for two and a table for 10 costs €800. Due to the continued success of the Galway GOAL Ball we advise early booking. Please contact Ronan Scully on (087) 6189094 in the GOAL office to secure tickets or e-mail

rscully@goal.ie

All funds raised on the evening will be targeted towards GOAL’s relief and development programmes worldwide. GOAL is currently working in 11 countries in the developing world, providing much needed healthcare, nutrition, education, and water and sanitation facilities to the most impoverished communities and the most vulnerable individuals. We are proud of the fact that over the 33 years GOAL has managed to do this while keeping our administration costs exceptionally low. This is why we are urging you to support GOAL on Friday, 19th of November.

We are also very grateful for sponsorship for the ball in the form of financial support or spot/raffle prizes.

For further information please do not hesitate to contact the GOAL West of Ireland office on (087) 6189094. Thank you very much for your continuing support to GOAL and for all your support in the past.

Kids Corner with Cian and Bella.

Luke 20:27-38 • All God’s Children

Bella: Hi Cian, Wow we were learning about the resurrection from this week’s Gospel and I really don’t understand it very well.

Cian: Actually we did it too but in the end I understood it. Basically in this week’s Gospel Jesus is telling us about life after death. In our lifetime and beyond we are all God’s children. There will be no divisions, no distinctions and no differences between us. Why? Because we will be loved by God the Father as his children!

Bella: But there are no differences between us now Ciano?

Cian: Yes but the Gospel is speaking about every person on the earth, just imagine, every person from every race and every country, in God’s Kingdom we are equal and loved always.

Bella: Wow, Cian you did get it alright! That helps a lot and makes me feel closer to all the strangers that I meet on the bus and see on TV every day! All God’s children, hmmmm …

You are a child of God, say a prayer with this in mind today!
