The Chrism Mass will be celebrated on Holy Thursday, April 5th 2012 at 11am in Galway Cathedral. At this Mass, the Chrism is consecrated, and the Oil of the Sick and the Oil of Catechumens are blessed by the Bishop for use in the sacraments in the year ahead.
The priests of the diocese and priests living or ministering in this diocese concelebrate this Mass with the Bishop, manifesting in a special way their communion with him. This is a very appropriate occasion to pray for our priests as they renew their priestly promises, and to pray for vocations to the priesthood.
