Next Thursday, October 29th is the Feast of St. Colman of Kilmacduagh. The Diocese of Kilmacduagh is part of our diocese of Galway, Kilmacduagh and Kilfenora. Born in the 7th century, Colman studied in Aran, where he founded two monasteries in Inís Mhór. He returned to his native Kilmacduagh to make a foundation, the remains of which are one of the great treasures of our diocese. There is a mural to him in The Cathedral, behind Our Lady's altar, and above you'll see a picture of the Round Tower of Kilmacduagh, part of the foundation.
